Response to 嘉馨- Jungshih [double entry Journal5]

Two Critical Questions from嘉馨

I would offer few personal suggestions as follows:
Ø   Assess pedagogical and administration policy in order to see your ultimate goals of syllabus design, that is your overall goal.
Ø   Narrow down the course scope in order to make your mid-term goals for your courses.
Ø   Then, you will assess your learners’ background knowledge and their abilities in order to design course by semester, monthly, and then weekly.
Once you finish a basic frame work, and then carefully add cultural factors to each layers in order to reach C1/C2 introduction, C1/C2 contraction, and C1/C2 application. Remember well preparation can help a teacher avoid bumpers as much as possible and there is always gap between inter or intra cultures cause that’s why communication is needed and language serves its functions as well.

2.  若使用數位教學應用於課堂中,你覺得此種教學方式是好是壞?為什麼?
Teaching methods, approaches, and techniques have been changing along with the whole pedagogical contexts, and it only goes beyond our vision. The evolution of teaching appliances, of course, have been designed more multi-functional and efficient as well. However, we can’t but rise a question to ourselves that would it be possible that students don’t need teachers anymore or would 3C technology replace teacher’s role in our near future? The answer goes back to the inventors of whose intentions and motivations root from. Few possible thoughts are like increasing chances of authentic materials for both teachers and learners. Once online teaching is adapted both sides, geographic distance will not be a problem. Learning will not be restricted by time, either. Still, human beings acquire certain behaviors through our sensory experiences. The processes are quite complex and it can be analogized as looking at a glass of water will not resolve your thirst. You have to feel it in order to know the temperature of the water, not just by reading and watching. One of the toddlers’ experiments conducted by Dr. Patricia Kuhl and Dr. Huang in NTNU examined language acquisition in comparison of mother and media. Their findings reveal that mother plays a crucial role for language acquisition before certain critical ages. On the other hand, the results also suggests that media can contribute to language acquisition but with little efficacy. Evidently, the neuro-linguistic experiment restates the key role that human being has played in order to trigger the innate device of all of us, irreplaceable. Therefore, 3c appliances can be utilized to enhance learning motivation and attribute to somewhat significant results, yet it can never replace a teacher!!
